Simpson's, Edinburgh City Hotel
Based in the very heart of the city, the hotel is located within the original Memorial Hospital, which was built in 1879 and converted into a modern city centre hotel in the late 1990's.
The current refurbishment of its 52 bedrooms, the first phase of which was completed in January 2008, injects a 'boutique hotel' feel with neutral tones and flashes of bold accent colours. Design features include engravings of the Edinburgh New Town plan incorporated into the bespoke furniture, and stylised photographic images of classical Edinburgh.
